THE AUTHOR

Dr. Stephanos Ioannou is a neuroscientist, psychotherapist, and couples therapist whose work bridges science and human experience. Beginning his career in psychology, he pursued an MSc in Brain Imaging and later earned a PhD in Neuroscience, specializing in the neurophysiology of emotions. He has served as Assistant Professor of Neurophysiology at Alfaisal University in Saudi Arabia and is the founder of the Limassol Psychological Wellbeing Centre. His research and clinical practice explore how trauma is carried in the body, shaping the way we think, feel, and connect — both with ourselves and with others. A passionate advocate for mental health, Dr. Stephanos believes we must move beyond treatment and learn how to live fuller, calmer, and more authentic lives. Today, he works as an interdisciplinary psychotherapist and couples therapist, helping people rediscover love, intimacy, and above all, themselves.
